Matt Pasquinelli, Academy Director
Coach Matt Pasquinelli began playing soccer at 13, and by the age of 15, was playing with the Detroit Express of North American Soccer League, representing their youth team. This led to him being offered a contract at age 16 with Detroit Express Senior squad. He spent the next three years with the team, and then played at Berry College of Rome, Georgia. Coach Pasquinelli then went on to be drafted by St.Louis Steamers of Major Indoor Soccer League.
Following his active playing years, his first hand experience and love for the game brought him to the coaching world where he coached several National Capital Soccer League Division 1 teams. Coach Pasquinelli spent 2 years coaching professionally with Real Maryland in Division 1 of the USL. Coach Pasquinelli served for two years as an Academy Goalkeeping Coach for DC United of Major League Soccer. He has worked for Celtic FC of the Scottish Premier League, Stoke City FC of the English Premier League and as a guest coach with Manchester United FC and continues to serve those teams. Through these foreign exchanges and his exposure to the latest goalkeeping skills and techniques, Coach Pasquinelli’s learning never stops. Currently, Coach Pasquinelli is the goalkeeper coach for The George Washington University Men’s Soccer Team and Director of the 192SQFT Goalkeeping Academy.
